Fandom: Once Upon a Time
Are they from (an anime, book, manga, video game, etc.): tv show
Age of Character: late 30's
Point in Canon: After the events of S02E04 - The Crocodile
۞ History: Prince Charming, David Nolan
۞ Personality:
In Fairy Tale Land he starts off as a peasant without a care in the world. He has dreams of meeting a girl, falling in love, and getting married. He's playful, aloof, and more than a bit of a smart ass. He however was a dutiful son and loved his mother more than anyone else and therefore was willing to sacrifice all of those dreams to protect her from King George. He found himself having to live a lie about who he was. He also came face to face with having to marry someone he did not even love in the slightest. He also later shows this romantic notion of believing in a true love when the woman he is set to marry takes him to see the man she had wanted to marry. He risked himself facing a siren to get for her what she needed to free her love from his golden prison. Of course this also incited the wrath of King George. James himself had a woman he loved named Snow White and he ran with her trying to avoid the angry king.
His willingness to sacrifice for the greater good would rear it's head once more well after he and Snow are married. With Regina wanting revenge and sending a curse their way, James and Snow must send their daughter away knowing she'd find them someday. He had to believe that much to let go of his only child. He nearly gave his life for baby Emma and only the curse most likely saved his life. He's the type of man that will gladly sacrifice himself to protect those he loves.
When we first see him in Storybrooke he starts out in a coma so you don't get to see much of him at first. When he does awake he's a man without any memories, so the man we get to see is a confused man. Searching for who he is and what his life was. He's impulsive ready to jump into something with Mary Margaret without a second thought. This is a throwback to the man we first meet before he gives up his life and becomes Prince James. Once he regains his memories he's a bit more grounded. His loyalty is shown when he chooses to work on his marriage rather than leave his wife in the end. Though he never was able to deny the pull he felt to Mary Margaret. Not that the curse has been lifted and his wife and daughter are who knows where, he's grown even more. He's looking out for the town and even doing his best to protect Regina because that's what Henry wants.
۞ Magical Powers, Skills, and Weapons:
His life as Prince James has made him adept with a sword, as well as horse riding. It also has given him his air of a leader and tactical mind.
۞ Other Abilities:
He's good with animals as he worked as a Veterinary assistant at
Storybrooke Pet Shelter. He's also a decent cook or so he thinks he is, he at least can survive.
۞ Journal Sample:
You think I'd be used to this whole being in one place than another. I know one thing, this isn't Storybrooke. It's also not home. Can someone tell me exactly where this is? And how I get back to where I need to be?
If I'm lucky this is where my wife and daughter disappeared to.
Regina if this is your doing you better not hurt, or let Henry get hurt.
۞ Third Person Sample:
The moment Mary Margaret told him she couldn't be with him he felt like he couldn't breathe. He had known it was all his fault, that he should have been honest with everyone. That he should have believed that she'd never hurt Katherine. He couldn't stay in Storybrooke anymore. It hurt too much to see her there and not be able to be with her.
He easily packed up and got into the car. There was no looking back as he turned on the engine and started the drive away. Then he felt something. Something trying to keep here in Maine. Then suddenly a fog lifted and who he really was came back to him like a flood. His eyes widened as he stepped out of the truck and went in search of her. In search of his Snow. He met her on the street and smiled. They had been saved and deep inside he knew their daughter was the cause. Their Emma, all grown and a strong woman. There was an ache that he had to miss out on that part of her life.
Everything happened so fast and then there she was. Emma. The reunion was short lived both because she needed time and the people of Storybrooke wanted to kill Regina. And the only reason he was stopping it was because of a promise Emma made to Henry, his grandson. Now that would take some getting used to. Things would take a terrible turn when a wraith sent by Gold to kill Regina is sent through a portal, and it takes Emma with. As if that wasn't bad enough for him after just getting her back? He watched Snow jump in after their daughter and when he tried to follow? He hit solid floor. They were gone. He lost them both. He looked at Henry seeing how sad he was, and when he said he wasn't going with Regina? Well he stepped up and took Henry with him, he was his family after all. The air was heavy when they walked into his place. He could tell henry was down as he stared at a picture of the two missing women.
"Henry."
"Yeah?"
"Don't worry. Emma and Mary Margaret, they're alive."
"How do you know?"
"I have faith."
"But--"
"Henry. Come here."
Kneeling down he looks into his young grandson's eyes.
"I will find them. I will always find them."
David truly believed those words, he would always find his family. He'd never stop looking for them until he was able to bring them back home where they belonged. Right now he had Henry to look after as well as find a way to bring the entire family back together.
What he didn't expect was to find himself somewhere else. He knew he wasn't in Storybrooke neither was he back home. Maybe he was where Emma and Snow had gone but at the same time the idea excited him he worried for leaving Henry alone. Whatever he did here, he needed to find his way back to his grandson soon.
